Putney, Kissing Point, pontoon

A Captain Cook Cruises ferry makes its way past the pontoon at Kissing Point along the north shore of the Parramatta River, in the north western suburb of Putney. Rivendell School, formerly the Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital, stands on the southern shore, in the western suburb of Concord West.

  1. Can't help but comment on "Kissing point." Can imagine many jokes are made when going there:) Love ferry's since they remind me on my childhood. Many thanks for sharing this fun scene with All Seasons! Have a great rest of the week, Jesh

    1. It is believed to have been given that name in the early days of the colony because the Parramatta River was so shallow that this was the point that heavily laden vessels could reach, before their keels 'kissed' the bottom.
