Sydney Olympic Park, war memorial

This war memorial located in the flower garden, on the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Sarah Durack Avenue, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. "There But Not There" are six foot tall Tommy Soldier silhouette sculptures which were created to commemorate the centenary of the end of Wold War 1, on 11 November 2018.

  1. "There But Not There" is a very sensitive way to depict young men who never returned home after the war.

  3. Always good to remember our fallen loved ones, does it light up at night?

    1. No, Amy. It's just a very simple steel structure standing in the garden.

  4. Less is more. I'd never expect a war memorial in an Olympic park; this is so touching and powerful.
