Looking down at the Ross Jones Memorial Pool, located next to the Surf Life Saving Club, from the upper promenade at Coogee Beach in the eastern suburb of Coogee. Those standing in the tidal pool and one about to walk down the stairs are rugby league footballers. The State of Origin series is an annual best-of-three rugby league series between two Australian state representative sides, the New South Wales Blues and the Queensland Maroons. This photo was taken on Monday when these players from the NSW Blues were revealed for the upcoming series. Their two watchful minders keep an eye on the rough waves washing in.

Those waves do look rough.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty pool and I love the name of the beach (and town).
ReplyDeleteThose waves really do look rough. Neat capture, Jim!
ReplyDeleteI would so not swim there. Great pic thou!
ReplyDeleteThis pool is quite safe compared to swimming in the ocean but I did have eyes wide open when I saw the waves wash over the top.
DeleteLooks dangerous but must be safe or they wouldn't let the rugby team players there! Good shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome shot! I often wonder about the old pools along the coast here in NZ as well as Australia. They would be great places to gather in the past.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
