Hurstville Museum & Gallery

Hurstville Museum & Gallery is located along MacMahon Street, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. 'Kenilworth' was built in 1929 by Doctor John Saxon Crakanthorp to be his practice and family home. In 1962, it became the new club house and recreational centre for the St George Rugby Club. In 1983, it was transformed into MacMahon's Manor, a fine dining and theatre restaurant. Later it housed other restaurants including Fanari Restaurant & Bar. The museum and gallery opened in 2004 and is maintained by Georges River Council as the only regional museum and gallery in the St George district.

  1. I know Sydney people like their rugby, but it is a bit sweaty and rough :)
So I am very pleased the building was changed firstly into a theatre restaurant and then into the museum and gallery.

    1. It doesn't seem to be heritage listed but I think it should be so it is protected.
