"88 Bars" is an artwork along George Street at The Rocks, which is part of the Vivid Sydney festival. It was created by Sinclair Park and consists of 88 neon tubes in a glass box. It is a reminder of the landmark neon Coca Cola sign on William Street, which was one of the largest neon signs in the world and featured 88 neon bars. It was installed in 1974 but the neon was replaced with energy efficient LEDs in 2016. Other artworks can be seen behind it in First Fleet Park.

Bet that conversion took a little thought.
ReplyDeleteI was interested to learn that neon lights are going out of style with energy efficient LEDs replacing them.

ReplyDeleteLEDs are everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI like that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by CAAC on Monday, Jim! I love it when new people come to the Monday's Music Moves Me party. I just wanted you to know you added your URL to a music linky party. I left it but it got labeled as NO MUSIC. I'm sure you understand those who participator are looking for other bloggers sharing music but please feel free to visit or join the fun anytime. A simple remedy is to include a music video of your choice in your post. ;) Have a boogietastic day!
