This anchor monument was once located at Tempe Recreation Reserve, in the inner west suburb of Tempe. It stood beside a walkway along the foreshore of the Cooks River. If there was a plaque here explaining its history it had disappeared just like the anchor has now.

Nice evening light.
ReplyDeleteThat's an unexpected sight.
ReplyDeleteGreat light!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of Tempe Arizona, and there would be precious little reason for an anchor there - it's desert!

I believe both Tempe, New South Wales and Tempe, Arizona are named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece.
DeleteIt's a nice monument, sad that people have stolen the items
