Lewisham, school

This heritage listed school building is located along Thomas Street in the inner west suburb of Lewisham. It was originally built in 1906 as part of St Thomas Becket Boys School, which closed in 2005. The Eileen O'Connor Catholic College was established here in 2016 as a co-educational K-12 school supporting students with moderate intellectual disabilities.

The Woronora General Cemetery is located in the southern suburb of Sutherland. This pergola, near the Woronora Crematorium, is one of many found in the landscaped gardens at the cemetery.

Rose Bay, water airport

These sea planes are at the Rose Bay Water Airport, in the eastern suburb of Rose Bay. Sydney Seaplanes is Australia's largest seaplane operator with flights over Sydney Harbour and a number of destinations like Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Cottage Point, Berowra Waters, Pittwater and the Hawkesbury River. This photo was taken fifteen years ago so this terminal has been upgraded since then.

This religious marble statue is located in the grounds of the Eileen O'Connor Catholic College at the front of the former Saint Thomas Presbytery,  in the inner west suburb of Lewisham.

Lewisham, Saint Thomas Presbytery

 
Saint Thomas Presbytery is located along Thomas Street, in the inner city suburb of Lewisham. This heritage listed building was built around the 1870s as the presbytery for nearby St Thomas Becket Catholic Church. It was restored in 2020 to provide offices, meeting rooms and aminities for the Eileen O'Connor Catholic College.

Lewisham, railway station (Theme Day: Travel)

A train arriving on platform 2 at Lewisham railway station in the inner west suburb of Lewisham. The station opened in 1886 and is served by Sydney Trains T2 Leppington & Inner West Line and occasional T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line services. The Waratah A-Set trains in the Sydney Trains network were built between 2011 and 2014.

Cronulla, car park, art

This artwork is on the wall of a stair well of the roof top car park along Croydon Street, in the southern suburb of Cronulla. It was created by street artist Cameron Marbus aka Emors in 2019 as part of the Walk the Walls Street Art Festival where established and emerging street artists were recruited to paint murals, as part of a large crime prevention program to stop graffiti and vandalism.

Kogarah Bay, canal

The canal which carries Kogarah Bay Creek to Kogarah Bay, in the southern suburb of Kogarah Bay. This view is from the Carlton Crescent bridge and these palm trees which line the canal are in Carss Bush Park.

Mascot, Twin Arch Bridge

An illuminated Twin Arch Bridge, which carries Airport Drive over Alexandra Canal between the eastern suburb of Mascot and the inner west suburb of Tempe. It is part of the new Sydney Gateway road interchange built in 2024 to link the Sydney International Airport to the Sydney Domestic Airport and the M8 Motorway.

Mortlake, pub

The Palace Hotel is located on the corner of Tennyson Road and McDonald Street in the inner west suburb of Mortlake. It was built in the 1920s and replaced the original Palace Hotel at the end of the road built in 1886, on the shore of the Parramatta River.

Lewisham, church

St Thomas Becket Church (also known as the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury) is a heritage listed Catholic church located along Thomas Street, in the inner west suburb of Lewisham. The original church on this site was built in 1855. This church building was completed in its current form in 1888 in the Pugin Neo-Gothic style, it is recognised as Sydney's second oldest church.
