Summer Hill, temple
This temple is located on the corner of Kensington Road and Liverpool Road, in a building that was a Masonic temple in the 1920s. The building was converted to house the Taoist deity of Wong Tai Sin on the lower floor and the Buddhist Bodhisattva of Kwan Yin on the upper floor.
R U sure U didn't take a wrong turn and end up in Beijing?! A grand temple indeed, J Bar!
ReplyDeleteWe have quite a smattering of Asian temples now throughout the city, Jim. In my mind, this is an excellent situation. I am going in for the CNY parade next Sunday, thunderstorm or not.
ReplyDeleteFrom a Masonic temple to a Taoist temple, that is sort of funny. Interesting building (and those two yesterday are pretty unusual, too!)

ReplyDeleteA wonderful Sunday for you.
Very beautiful, majestic temple.
ReplyDeleteWow, Sydney is full of interesting architecture. For a moment there, I thought we'd been transported to the Far East.

Leif and Hilda, we do have a variety of churches, mosques and temples in Sydney, as Julie commented above. Sydney is a very multicultural city.
