These light balloons representing giant jelly fish floating above Sydney Harbour were located on the foreshore of Circular Quay West, as part of the Vivid Sydney festival. "Jellight" was created by Simon Lee, Aamer Taher and Pascal Petitjean from Australia, Singapore and France. The jellyfish are departing the polluted oceans to escape into the universe like UFOs.

These are good. Found them difficult to photograph, especially trying to get them without people in the way.

These are very clever and your photographs present them in excellent light. It appears that Sydney is quite taken with the use of colored light in very clever ways. You and our friend Julie have shared many examples. These "jellyfish" must have been tricky to photograph well and you have done a great job.
ReplyDeletespectacular installation.

We escape from the water when they invade, and now the jellyfish are themselves escaping from the ocean. Great idea, and pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnn, the crowds certainly posed a challenge with this one. My first two were taken after midnight when the crowds had dispersed somewhat. The next three, I shot above the heads of the crowd.
ReplyDeleteFabulous colours and clever photography! Love them!

ReplyDeleteMIST ON THE OCEAN
Mist on the ocean,
Mist on the sea,
Mist on the meadow,
Mist on the tree;
Dew on the grasses,
Dew on the rose,
Dew in the garden,
Dew on my clothes;
All of this wetness,
It’s plain to see,
Promises blessings
For you and me!
