This "Interactive Paint Projection" was displayed on the facade and sign of the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay, during the Vivid Sydney festival. It has been created by Australia's Spinifex Group, in collaboration with The Electric Canvas and engages the general public. It uses interactive technology that interprets body movements to create colourful splashes, drips and spirals on the exterior of the museum. Two people standing in the foreground, with their shadows seen at the base of the light projection, move their bodies around to create a unique piece of art.
Love it J! What a great image.
ReplyDeleteGreat project, and photo.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is THAT! Awesome!
ReplyDeletethat is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool. I love the idea and your photo.
ReplyDeleteSuper effect! You could probably stay there all night enjoying the changing display.
ReplyDeleteThis is good. Much better than mine of MCA. Either had trees or people in the way. Not good on the tripod in portrait orientation either. Need more practice. Thought this was great fun once I realised how it actually worked and saw people "throwing paint".
ReplyDeleteooh, I would like to see that bit with the paint being thrown onto the building!
ReplyDeleteWow these is pretty cool!!

The cycles were difficult. I went back with the 50mm lens, concentrated on the people and did it hand held at, probably F1.8. Did get the Public Art Pencil but was working hand held and, because people moved, they are out of focus, not sure they are usable. Will put some Rocks stuff up next week. Not all the hand held stuff worked.
ReplyDeleteAnn, this one was difficult with the movement and people but it was impossible for me to get a good shot of the cycles or pencil.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I enjoy this kind of art :)
ReplyDeletePsychedelic madness Jim, excellent!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like that, how creative and I love the result.
ReplyDeleteSuperb effect. Great shot Jim.
