The Bexley Uniting Church is located in Gladstone Street, in the southern suburb of Bexley. It was built in 1925 in the Federation architectural style and has been heritage listed for its aesthetic significance as an unusual architectural church design. It was originally a Methodist Church until the Uniting Church in Australia was formed in 1977.

ReplyDeleteI love the picture with that beautiful church.
ReplyDeleteThe Federation style is quite beautiful Jim .....good to see the quite vivid contrast between the deep grey of the brick-work and the terracotta tiles.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual design, love this brickwork - the brickies in the 1920s were the best.
ReplyDeleteA lovely church, my favorite is the stained glass windows. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteIt si a very unusual looking church, Jim, and worth preserving! Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteAgree that it is a very unusual looking church but also beautiful.
ReplyDeleteUnusual and beautiful church and a terrific capture as always, Jim.

quite pretty...I like the color!
ReplyDeleteUnique view and nice church!
ReplyDeleteThat is a most unusual looking building - and an unusual looking church. The steeple seems a little insubstantial, to say the least!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the church. Interesting design.
ReplyDeleteHi there - churches like that have such a distinctive look. I wonder if they are found anywhere else but here.

I wonder if at some time the roof was restored, it doesn't seem to go with the building, what do you think Jim? I guess it must just be the style of it.
ReplyDeleteLovely Church Jim!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Holland,
Anna :-))
PerthDailyPhoto, the roof tiles do look like they have been replaced. I'm not sure whether this was the original style or colour but these sort of terracotta tiles do fit in with Federation architectural style.
