Campbells Cove, Vivid Sydney, chandelier

This is Campbells Cove wharf at The Rocks, looking out across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House, just as two First Fleet ferries have departed from Circular Quay. The giant 9-metre chandelier which was recently suspended above the stage for "Opera on Sydney Harbour" performances at the Botanic Gardens has found a temporary new home here for the Vivid Sydney Festival, from 25 May until 11 June, which is a festival of light, music and ideas.

  2. fantastic shot, I must prefer the day time version. Have you managed to get down there in the night yet? not that the weather is great for it.

  3. Jo, I managed to get down to Circular Quay for a couple of hours on Sunday, when there was a break in the weather. I need to get back out there to take some pics and have a look around Walsh Bay too.

  4. Now that does look odd. An enormous outdoor chandelier juxtaposed against the opera house. Looking forward to hearing more about the outdoor performance.

  5. I want to get some shots of that lit up. Was down there after a photography class in the rain on Sunday but was tired and didn't stay all that long. Going to try again this weekend.
