I know this building well, Jim. It is a lovely art-deco design. The chapels are still perfect for their role, but the working areas in behind the chapels would not pass muster for normal folk. However, the people who work in behind have been their for yonks and would not work anywhere else! Thanks for your contribution to Taphophile Tragics this week. I appreciate it.
Such a beautiful building. Greetings from Montreal, Canada. Thank you so much for sharing.
Nice Art Deco/Egyptian building - perhaps appropriate for a mortuary complex give the Egyptians' preoccupation with death and the afterlife.
A beautiful building indeed and a great capture as always, Jim! And, as always, your blue, blue skies are incredible! Have a good week!Sylvia
Interesting design for a crematorium!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Interesting building. I've never been a fan of art deco, but this one seems to fit the use.
elegant and stately structure
What an impressive building.
It's a beautiful building! Always a treat to see your city through your fantastic photos!:)
Art Deco was such a wonderful architectural style.
This looks more like some administrative offices rather than a mausoleum! Impressive, fascinating building style.
great picture of a beautiful place
Art deco masterpiece - a spooky coincidence Jim. I was meant to go to a funeral there last week.
A nice exmaple of Art deco
Such clean and crisp lines to this interesting building. It is a fine piece of art deco...not too little and not too much....just the right amount. The sky behind really dos set it off beautifully. genie
What an excellent example of an art deco building.
to me the building looks a bit grim. i would prefer more color, haha. but perhaps thats not fitting with its function...
I usually think of art deco in theatres and hotels, not crematoria. it is lovely, though.
Very interesting story. Liked it very much. Thanks for writing such a interesting story.Petter Joe
