The Rocks, windmill

The Rocks Windmill has been installed in The Rocks Square from 12th April to 12th May. This four-storey windmill hosts events which explore the history and culture of The Rocks through art, science and imagination. It is a functioning wheat mill, providing hands-on experience for grinding wheat into flour. It is also an intimate venue for productions and events.

  2. I like the touch of red in the windmill itself. The red stairs are perfect for a Ruby Tuesday post. Nicely done.

  9. I love the idea that it is a functioning wheat mill, showing children how flour used to be made in the colony. But why is the building only going to be there for another fortnight?

    1. I think this could have been an interesting permanent feature for The Rocks. Maybe not in such a central location but it would be great somewhere else.

  11. An unusual feature in The Rocks area! It almost seems out of place with the ambience of a "by the sea" area.
