Balmain, Montrose

"Montrose" is a house located along Thames Street, in the inner west suburb of Balmain. This heritage listed weatherboard house was constructed around 1885 in the Victorian architectural style but had additions made in the Federation architectural style. It is now part of a retirement village run by the Salvation Army.

  1. It must be nice and light inside with the many windows.

  3. Very nice bit of Victorian architecture but blending another era's architecture over the top of the old often doesn't work so well.

  7. I used to live in Balmain Street in Montrose in north-east Scotland. I guess there's a connection.
