Newtown, graffiti art
This large mural is on the side wall of a laundrette on the corner of King Street and Holt Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. It was created by graffiti artist Phibs who has created a few murals around the city such as one at Stanmore.
I like his style.

ReplyDeleteWow I wonder what they wer on when they painted that one. Not that I don't like it
ReplyDeleteVery psychedelic Jim.
ReplyDeleteI see a fish and a bird, after that a lot of bubbles perhaps fitting for a launderette.
ReplyDeleteLooks like something I saw with a microscope in biology class years ago.
ReplyDeleteBetter and funnyer than a sad grey wall !

Hi Jim,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a bubble bath. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Blue Monday!
The style looked familiar, we also have some of his work in Perth.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Beautiful! I like the style.
ReplyDeleteIt has a First Nation feel to it, Jim!
ReplyDeleteA thoughtful share, lots of wonderful colors to share too.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully intricate and with a water theme. Fun. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun mural! Great choice for that location!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy graffiti art, especially when it fits the building it is on. Have a great week and thank you for stopping by my blog this week.
ReplyDeleteA wild bit of graffiti art, but that sign really caught my eye. I guess if you are going to stay there more than one night you have to wash the towels and sheets. That’s a first for me. I wonder if they supply the bags?????
ReplyDeleteGenie, the bagwash service would involve dropping off a bag of laundry which they would wash, dry and fold for you. A doona in Australia is what the British call a duvet or Americans call a comforter. Basically it's a quilt, so you can clean your own quilts at this laundrette.
DeleteFantastic design and color!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of soap bubbles!
