Lilli Pilli, Port Hacking estuary

This view across the Port Hacking estuary is from Lilli Pilli Point, in the southern suburb of Lilli Pilli. The tide was low enough that a sandbank was exposed in the middle of the estuary and people could easily walk out from the shore. The suburb name, Lilli Pilli, is derived from the Lilly Pilly native myrtles that grew here.

  1. Very pretty! Of course, one wants to be back before the tide comes in.

  5. That is a very pretty spot. I have never heard of the suburb of Lilli Pilli. I must check out the Sutherland Shire next time I visit Sydney.

  6. The name of the area should be in a children's book. What a beautiful scene.
