This structure is part of the "Wrapped" display suspended above centre court of The Galeries shopping centre, in the Citigroup Centre. It was created for Christmas as a tribute to oddly shaped presents, with three giant wrapped presents looking suspiciously like a bottle, headphones and a sneaker. After Christmas, the gifts were unwrapped and remain on display for the post-Christmas Sales. I featured the wrapped version here last week.

do folks shop at the mall any more?
ReplyDeleteIn the city they certainly still do and this shopping centre is quite innovative by now having a number of quality restaurants on the upper levels where they once had shops.
DeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteI thought of Christo immediately!
ReplyDeleteYep, even unwrapped, it still looks suspiciously like a bottle!
ReplyDeleteI like the way such transitory sculptures dress the city for different occasions.
ReplyDeleteIt will remain?
ReplyDeleteNot for very long, Arianna. This shopping centre changes its displays every few months.
