The Russian Memorial in Rookwood Necropolis, the largest multicultural cemetery in the southern hemisphere, in the western suburb of Rookwood. It was built by Michael Bakich and the inscription reads: In memory of all Russian Orthodox people resting in peace throughout the world. Memorial consecrated by Archbishop Theodosy 7th May 1978.

ReplyDeleteThere are many explanations but it's basically a footrest and in many depictions of Christ, his right side is higher.
DeleteIn the Gospel of Luke, Christ was crucified with two other men. The one to Christ’s right has become known as the “Good Thief,” while the one to His left is referred to as the “Unrepentant Thief." Thus the third bar on the Orthodox Cross slanted meaning.
