This post office is located on the corner of Bondi Road and Ocean Street, in the eastern suburb of Bondi. The heritage listed building was built in 1915 in the Federation style with Arts and Crafts and Queen Anne influences. The butcher shop next door features a hand painted sign on the side wall advertising some interesting cuts of game meat from Venison, Buffalo and Wild Boar to the native Kangaroo, Emu and Crocodile.

Its layout appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteNice that you still have post offices!
ReplyDeleteThey are certainly becoming harder to find these days, Stefan.
DeleteLove the red windows and frames at the entrance.
ReplyDeleteMy in laws lived next to Bondi Rd so this is an area I know very well! I looks as if the post office building has been protected and maintained well.
ReplyDelete...it's interesting that it has three chimneys.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable!
ReplyDeleteLooks very cute, love the red windows. Glad it's still standing and hasn't been pulled down in favour of some high rise apartment building.
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting looking building. I like it!
ReplyDeletelove the bricks and chimneys
ReplyDeleteNice looking building with the red trim. Ours post offices have green trim and lots of them are closing down in the rural areas.
ReplyDeleteThat's a winner!
