Martin Place, advertisement
This promotion in the middle of Martin Place was created by Remedy Kombucha, which is a fermented iced tea. Two colourful tents house a sideshow alley, an Australian term for the cluster of attractions at public events such as agricultural shows. They typically comprise of a variety of amusement rides, games, and concession booths, run by independent operators known as 'showies'. At Remedy Alley, they have knock down tin cans, the laughing clowns game, cannon blast and a whack-a-mole game.
I think here the term would be carnies as opposed to showies.
ReplyDeleteI like how our cultures are same same but different. :)
DeleteWe have fun fairs set up by an independent contractor. Tents with similiar games, concessions and rides as you mentioned.
