St George's Anglican Church was built in 1955 and is located on the corner of St Georges Parade and Minnamorra Avenue, in the south western suburb of Earlwood.
This church looks like many of the brick veneer houses and public buildings I grew up amongst, built in the 1948-58 era when the demobilised soldiers were starting their families.

ReplyDeleteInteresting building, at first I thought the front windows looked like what you'd see in a house.
ReplyDeleteI had thought it older but can see it is typical of the 1950's
ReplyDeleteHello Tom!
ReplyDeleteI really like brick buildings. Looking at your picture, I thought the church was a lot older.
A healthy and happy week:)
...Jim, the roof is a nice feature of this lovely church.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was built to last.
ReplyDeleteThat is similar to so many of the buildings of the 1950's. Looks like a tile roof.
ReplyDeleteYes, terracotta roof tiles are common for this era.
DeleteI'm intrigued by the shadows nestling in the shelter of the blue door.
