Market City is located along Hay Street, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. This complex contains a produce and flea market known as Paddy's Markets on the ground floor, the Market City shopping centre on three levels above, and a skyscraper apartment building called The Peak. The Vegetable Market building was built in 1909 in the Edwardian style with the façade preserved and restored in the 1980 redevelopment. A tram has stopped at the Paddy's Markets Light Rail Stop, which is on the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney Light Rail Network.
