Eight Chifley Square

Eight Chifley Square is a 34 storey commercial building which is bounded by Elizabeth Street, Phillip Street and Hunter Street. It was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners together with Lippmann Partnership and completed in 2013. The building behind it is Deutsche Bank Place, a 39 storey building which is located on the corner of Phillip Street and Hunter Street. This view is from Hunter Street and has been made possible from this angle following the demolition of a number of buildings along Hunter Street for a new development.

Botanic Gardens, Palm Grove Centre

The Palm Grove Centre Garden Shop is located in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The Palm Grove was established near the Middle Garden in 1862 along with Australia's first zoo and aviary. This facilities building was converted in 2000 to house a cafe restaurant and a shop which sells Botanic Gardens merchandise such as gardening books, artworks and gifts. There are also seeds and 100% raw and unheated honey collected from their beehives.

Paddington, parsonage

The former parsonage of St Matthias Anglican Church is located along Oxford Street, in the inner city eastern suburb of Paddington. Although the church is heritage listed, this former parsonage has not yet been included. It now houses Sven-San, a restaurant with a fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian cuisines.

Queen Victoria Building, Royal Clock

The Royal Clock hangs from the glass ceiling of the Queen Victoria Building. This clock was designed by Neil Glasser and made by Thwaites & Reed of Hastings in England. When activated, on the hour between 9am and 9pm, it displays animated scenes of English royalty. The six scenes are: King Cnut commanding the tide to halt; King Harold dying on the field at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; King John signing the Magna Carta in 1215 with Stephen Cardinal Langton present; Henry VIII and his six wives; Queen Elizabeth I knighting Sir Francis Drake aboard the Golden Hind in 1588; The execution of King Charles I in 1649. The Queen Victoria Building was designed by George McRae and completed in 1898 in the Romanesque architectural style replacing the original Sydney markets on this site. It was restored in 1986 and houses retail shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Summer Hill, art

This part of a mural on the side of wall of Summer Hill Village shopping centre, along the walkway that leads to Darrel Jackson Gardens, in the inner west suburb of Summer Hill.

Surry Hills, St Sophia Greek Orthodox Church

St Sophia Greek Orthodox Church is located along Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This heritage listed church was originally built as a Congregational Church known as St Sophia and Her Three Daughters. It was designed by William Boles and built in 1880 in the Victorian Gothic architectural style.

Surry Hills, hotel

The former Pelican Hotel is located along Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. The heritage listed building was built in 1858 in the Victorian Georgian architectural style and known as the Emerald Isle Hotel, later the Gulgong Hotel. It now houses a boutique hotel and a French restaurant.

New South Wales Masonic Club

The New South Wales Masonic Club is located along Castlereagh Street. This heritage listed building was designed by C. W. Chambers and built in 1925 in the Inter-war Commercial Palazzo architectural style. The twelve storey sandstone building was built by the Masonic Lodge as a Gentleman's Club with a notable double volume main Dining Room. The upper levels featured hotel type rooms, now known as the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel.

Barangaroo, wharf

This ferry wharf, in inner city suburb of Barangaroo, is used by the fast ferry to Manly. A water taxi is seen here making its way from Darling Harbour with the wharves at Pyrmont in the background.

Millers Point, shops

This group of terrace shops and residences is located along Argyle Place, between Argyle Lane and High Street, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. The heritage listed building was built in 1910 in the Federation architectural style.

Chipping Norton, Homestead Park

Homestead Park, on the southern shore of Chipping Norton Lake, in the south western suburb of Chipping Norton. The Homestead is a heritage listed house built in the 1884 in the Victorian Italianate architectural style. Together with this old windmill and water tank, it stands as an example of the farms around this area in the early era.

This street art is on the side of a house along May Lane, on the corner of May Street, in the inner city suburb of St Peters.

Balmain, shipyard and ferry

A Sydney ferry passes by the  Balmain Shipyard, located at the southern end of Mort Bay, in the inner city suburb of Balmain. The dockyards have been a base for ferry operations as far back as the 1860s.The Golden Grove is a First Fleet Class ferry, acquired by Sydney Ferries in 1986 and is part of the fleet that operates on the Inner Harbour. It was named Golden Grove, after the one of eleven ships of the First Fleet that sailed to Australia in 1787.

Observatory Tower

Observatory Tower is located along Kent Street, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. Overlooking Observatory Hill, the tower is home to 199 luxury apartments. It was originally built in 1964 as the IBM Centre, an office building with 21 storeys. In 1996 it was converted to apartments with 10 storeys added to the original steel structure.

Millers Point, Abraham Mott Hall

Abraham Mott Hall is a community building located where Watson Road meets Argyle Street, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. The heritage listed building was built in 1904 in the Federation Arts and Crafts architectural style as the Coal Lumpers' Hall for the Coal Lumpers' Union. Coal lumpers were workers who moved coal and played an essential role on the Sydney waterfront. In 1960, it was named to honour Abraham Mott, a well respected local resident who was active in community affairs. The bus shelter along Argyle Street, formerly the Tram Waiting Room at the Millers Point Terminus, was also built in the Federation architectural style.

The Rocks, View Terrace

"View Terrace" are two heritage listed terrace houses along Gloucester Street in The Rocks. They were built in 1892 in the Victorian Italianate architectural style as part of an original line of five terrace houses. In 1911-1912 Cumberland Street was realigned and in doing so broke through the Gloucester Street alignment at Argyle Street which resulted in some of the terraces being demolished, The road level was raised by three metres and stairs built to Cumberland Street. They had remained as housing until 1980 when they became vacant and were in bad condition for a number of years. They were retained and conserved as part of a four level office development built behind them in 1986 along Cambridge Street.

Barangaroo, wharf

These fast ferries, operated by Captain Cook Cruises, run from the ferry wharf in inner city suburb of Barangaroo to various locations on Sydney Harbour and beyond such as Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Luna Park, Sydney Fish Market, White Bay Cruise Terminal, Manly and Watsons Bay. The Australian National Maritime Museum at Pyrmont can be seen in the distance.

Paddington, mural

This mural appears on the side wall of a medical centre on the corner of Young Street and Oxford Street, in the inner city eastern suburb of Paddington. "Interwoven" was created in 2017 by artist Nastia Gladushchenko.

Paddington, war memorial

The Paddington War Memorial is located outside the Victoria Barracks along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was erected in 1922 and features a single granite monolith set on three granite steps. The base has been squared with names engraved and gilded on three of the four polished granite sides. Inscription reads: For King and Country. In honor of the Paddington men who fought and in loving memory of those who fell during the Great War 1914-1918. Erected by the citizens of Paddington. Their duty done. Greater love hath no man.
