Australian National Maritime Museum

The Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour, viewed from King Street Wharf. The museum houses exhibitions that explore Australia's links with the sea and how maritime activities and issues have shaped the lives of people in Australia. Some of the outdoor exhibits can be seen from here such as the HMAS Vampire, the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse and the Endeavour replica.

  3. What a great waterside location for a maritime museum! It looks fantastic.

Sydney's Maritime Museum was essential to the brilliant success of the exhibition called On Their Own - Britain’s Child Migrants. So thanks for the link.

  6. You chose a nice angle for the photograph.
The price structure has recently changed, with an admission charge for the general galleries, but a reduced admission for the vessels and special exhibitions.

  7. Kevin, I had no idea it was free admission to the galleries until I heard they began charging recently.

  8. This museum has a great location and perfect for it's niche. I personally find it rather boring but that is because the seaside and boats are not generally my thing.

  11. The tall ship is such an anachronism in this shot. Exactly why I love seeing it there
