This view of Circular Quay ferry wharves and a ferry is from the viewing platform above Circular Quay railway station, out across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Narrabeen is a Freshwater Fleet Class ferry acquired in 1984, which is part of the Sydney Ferries fleet that operates services from Circular Quay to Manly.
Hah! I had nearly identical shots. Luckily I did not use them today. Rather I used a shot facing the other way - South.
ReplyDeleteHow I love your ferries.
ReplyDeleteIn this picture I can see the bench where grandson Dean and I sat on the trip to Manly. He fell asleep on my lap from the gentle motion and the hum of the engines.
Thanks for the memories.
Perfect view. We will be in Sydney for a few days in about a year, and we will be staying at the Marriott near Circular Quay. I hope we get a good view.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful watery photo! I would love a ride on that boat!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view and shot Jim.
ReplyDeleteI love this bridge with a delicious light.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day. It appears so warm and wonderful. Beautiful image.

Great shot with the city behind. The ferry is interesting to see.Love to see the water.
ReplyDeletethat's a great bridge
ReplyDeletelove the lines
Classic shot on a beautiful day. When Sydney looks like this who would want to be anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mark's comment. Given that you and Julie were shooting from the same spot the two photos are so different. The diversity of the city.
ReplyDeleteSomething so appealing about a ferry trip. I like the perspective.
ReplyDeleteSo very long since I have seen this view in reality! Still remember the old green and yellow ferries! Such a lovely sunny day for this glorious scene!
ReplyDeletePlenty of shadows and water in this shot!

What a perfect photo to make me want to visit Sydney again, Jim. My husband has never been to Australia, and I'm just not keen on the ever-so-long plane flight, but if I can find a ship going there, I'd be willing to fly back.

The bridge really stands out in this shot. It is so impressive in your pictures. Love the ferry. There is something very romantic about them to me. None in this area, but in Seattle we ride one to and from my son’s home on the island. This photo is so full of color and lovely things to look at. genie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blues of sky and water! Enjoy taking ferry rides!
ReplyDeleteA lovely place and view with just the right touch of shadows.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo with the ferry boat in the foreground and bridge in the background.
ReplyDeleteIn my research of the Auckland Harbour bridge, people accused that it is a copy of your famous Sydney Harbour bridge.
ReplyDeleteAnn, that's interesting. I don't think the Auckland Harbour Bridge looks much like the Sydney Harbour Bridge at all.
ReplyDeleteCool view of the bridge and the ferries. Great capture. Happy Scenic Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo and lovely bridge!
ReplyDeleteI like this point of view of the ferry and bridge, Jim. I was here and took that ferry in 2001... a decade ago already!
ReplyDeleteDon't ever stop taking pictures of this bridge Jim, I love it from any angle!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot! Bridge and ferry - how much more Sydney can you get?
ReplyDeleteHi Jim, Wish I were there enjoying the lovely place and the beautiful sunny days. It's cold here in San Francisco! Happy holidays, Evelyn
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun shot. I love all your blue skies too. We probably won't be seeing too many of those for a few months.
ReplyDelete«Louis» never tires of the variety of views you post of the Sydney Harbour Bridge - and he always (even if belatedly) appreciates your contributions to Sunday Bridges.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo...what can i say? you have a magnificent blog.
