These Sydney Ferries were captured in action arriving towards and departing from Circular Quay, just before passing each other in front of the Sydney Opera House. They are a First Fleet Class ferry arriving and a SuperCat Class ferry departing.

I enjoyed browsing through your pictures. Sydney is beautiful. Even the Sydney hospital is beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Ginger
ReplyDeleteCool shot!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's spectacular!
ReplyDeleteIt might be the same ferry we took to Manly among other places.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot, very cool.
ReplyDeleteIconic shot! Love the illusion of near collision course of the water craft.
ReplyDeleteAlways a magnificent view!
ReplyDeleteTo my way of thinking the sleeker craft do no measure up at all to the more traditionally shaped ferries. I love the green and gold on the harbour. Wonderful shot of a great part of Sydney, Jim.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot. It surprised me when I first saw pictures of those old ferries in Sydney a few years ago - they didn't really fit with the super-sleek ultra modern perception of Sydney that I had. I think with your Sydney blog and others, you give a much more rounded picture of the city and its history. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteAlways a lot of action on the harbour.
ReplyDeleteGreat "Theme Day" photo - and I forgot it - dratt!
Julie, looks like they fixed up that glitch on the CDP theme day meme.
ReplyDeleteLike the way the ferry echoes the shape of the Opera House. I saw these ferries in operation on an American reality show not too long ago. Recently in Oslo I saw their new opera house which was designed by the same architect as your Sidney Opera House. It was different, of course, but still reminded me of your house.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots!!

ReplyDeletebrilliant composition!
ReplyDeleteThe First Fleet Class ferry reminds me of the Staten Island Ferry of New York City! Nice shot.

ReplyDeleteAnn, the Queen gave Sydney a miss on her recent visit.
ReplyDeleteI have great memories of taking my toddler to zoo via ferry from Circular Quay. And she's 24 now!
ReplyDeleteThere certainly is a lot of action going on in the waters around that area Jim, great shot for today.
