This former grocery shop with residential space above is on the corner of Crown Street and Devonshire Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This heritage building built in 1912 has now become an Italian restaurant known as Essenza Italian. It has been beautifully restored with an eye-catching colour scheme.
Love the way it looks.
ReplyDeleteIt does have Italian flair.

ReplyDeleteWe did plan to go to Sydney later this year but the airplane tickets were to much for a family of 5, so we will end up in Sri Lanka instead.
ReplyDeleteSince I can not see the building my self now thank you for showing me.

Happy day****
I used to frequent this building about 15 years ago when it was 'The Rustic Cafe'. It was very casual in those days.

The colours are good - just right for an Italian restaurant.
ReplyDeleteSo solid, love how the names are on it , like Mark Foys.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see that these old buildings are being restored and looked after. I hate to see them neglected and then demolished.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and thanks for stopping by!
Natasha.

ReplyDeleteGreat restoration, very Hispanic flavour... have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like that they painted the original name to stand out, instead of blending it in.
