Surry Hills, restaurant

This former grocery shop with residential space above is in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This heritage building built in 1912 has now become an Italian restaurant known as Essenza Italian. It has been beautifully restored with an eye-catching colour scheme.

  4. We did plan to go to Sydney later this year but the airplane tickets were to much for a family of 5, so we will end up in Sri Lanka instead.

  6. I used to frequent this building about 15 years ago when it was 'The Rustic Cafe'. It was very casual in those days.

  10. It is so good to see that these old buildings are being restored and looked after. I hate to see them neglected and then demolished.

  13. I like that they painted the original name to stand out, instead of blending it in.
