Circular Quay, Vivid Sydney, sun

This animated sculpture was suspended above the Circular Quay foreshore at the Overseas Passenger Terminal for the Vivid Sydney festival. “The Light Wheel” was created by Australia’s Andre Kecskes and Mark Hammer. It is a play on the sun as the source of light, with LED lamps creating a mass of moving patterns which cycle through the colour spectrum with pulses and ripples throughout the evening. The sculpture runs entirely off one 10 amp outlet.

  4. Ann, yes I admit it is a bit of a stretch. I was being creative with a loose connection to the sun. Perhaps I should have planned the posts a bit better. There were a couple of them that were better suited to skywatch but I have already posted them.

  5. WOW Jim, great photos! I came by via Susan's party, but I missed it myself. I took pics of my pergola all dressed up this afternoon (with the 2 hour lull in the rain), and I REALLY hope you'll stop by and take a peak, and let me know what you think of the progress! :)
