Kirrawee, mural

This mural is located at the entrance of the railway station in the southern suburb of Kirrawee. Railcorp commissioned local resident and artist Pierre Comarmond to created this artwork which was installed in 2010. It features various images of culture, trade, occupations, history and the future. The mural is 1.2 metres high and 7.2 metres wide, printed on vinyl, mounted on aluminum and coated with an anti-graffiti proofing protector.

  1. Great mural and well-captured, Jim. Seems the technology is helping artists so much nowadays!

  2. Fantastic! And, the anti graffiti protector is great. It would be such a crime if someone defaced that mural.

  3. Large murals always stand out boldly, don't they. The anti-graffiti proofing protector will be important, given the mural's position next to a busy railway station.

  6. Very nice work! And the graffiti-proofing is a wonderful idea. Of course, I am sure it added to the cost of the artwork, so isn't always practical for everyone to use.

  11. A wall mural on vinyl and with anti-graffiti spray! Who knew such wonders exist. Apparently the sci-fi future runs on electricity. Very cool mural. Thanks, Jim, for participating in this week's Monday Mural.

  13. Strange that while the mural features an otherworldly fantasy, it's the tree rising above it that looks surreal!!

  14. wow it really interests me how people look at a picture and love it becuase its looks nice, makes me also wonder are these the same people that have played their part in this art. I mean do people look into the picture and ask questions about why certain things are there. This picture is nothing but future events of distruction that we are to see.
