This sandstone railway bridge over Campbell Street between Castlereagh Street and Elizabeth Street. It was built as part of the City Circle underground railway line. The first stage was opened in 1926 from Central railway station to Museum and St James stations. The sandstone was cleaned and restored last year.

ReplyDelete«Louis» likes the historical vignettes you often include in your posts, Jim, and he also appreciates your participation in Sunday Bridges.
ReplyDeleteIt is rare for «Louis» to be able to comment on Sundays, but he was able to do so this time because a bout with influenza kept him from working as he usually does on the weekends. Congratulations on being first up this week on the meme!
