This mural is painted on the side of a terrace house along Nickson Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. Located beside the Pawley Street Playground, it was originally created by artist Peter Day in 1981 and restored in 2012. There are 39 Australian native birds hidden in this bush backdrop including the Superb Fairy-Wren, Willie Wagtail, Australian Magpie, Rainbow Lorikeet, Crimson Rosella, Laughing Kookaburra, Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo, Tawny Frogmouth, Black Cockatoo and Pale Rosella.
What an amazingly detailed mural. That must've taken quite some time to complete.

It's so fine to read that someone or lots of someones cared about it enough to restore it. Lovely to see!
