Ultimo, mosaic

"Seeds of the Future" is a large mosaic on the exterior of the International Grammar School building on Kelly Street in the inner city suburb of Ultimo Street. It was created by husband and wife team, Lloyd Kelemen and Jenny Crooke. It was installed in 1996 and represents a seed opening and the development of technology.

  1. A sense of movement in these lovely arcing shapes. A move forward into the future.

  2. I have walked past this mural dozens of times. It is not that I didn't notice it ... I did. But picking it out like this has made is more beautiful.

  7. Hello Jim, The mosaic is stunning. The artists worked together and made outstanding art. After 51 years of marriage, a project with my husband is still a study in patience. HA!

BTW, I just did a silly "Where I should live" test and it said Sydney, Australia. You do live in a beautiful City.

  8. Hi Jim,

You live in such an interesting place! I THINK I can see a train in the middle of this mosaic.

    Happy Blue Monday!

  10. A graceful composition and seems so forward looking for 1996. Nice that it has held up so well. Thanks, Jim, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
