Winter Garden is a winter themed event in Cathedral Square and Cook and Philip Park. There is an outdoor ice rink in the square in front of St Mary's Cathedral, an inflatable slide and a mechanical snowboard on slopes in the park and walking on water in zorb balls in the fountain.
It's beautiful at night!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Always fun to see night shadows.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice shot
ReplyDeleteThe night light bathes this wintry scene in magic and casts some mellow, enchanting shadows.
ReplyDeleteHow nie a view - the shadows on the ice may keep our focus, but hopefully we can look at the cathedral too as the vertical light may compel us to look at he heavens above. Better to stop skatink while looking up though...
ReplyDeleteVery neat shot with the ice skating rink in the front of a wonderful church.
ReplyDeletegorgeous glow. very pretty shot. ( :
ReplyDeletePretty sight but not at all what I think of when I think of Sidney. ;))
ReplyDeleteLovely with the lights on the cathedral and the skaters in front.

That's COOL, Jim!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exquisite backdrop to the ice rink.
ReplyDeleteI like this!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Great photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful night shot of the serenity of the church and the gaiety of the skaters.
ReplyDeleteWow! Does the cathedral make the rink? Neat.
ReplyDeleteNot the cathedral itself. It's in a public space so I'd say the city organises the event.
DeleteLove the photo.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteMomentarily startled by the ice rink, then remembered that the seasons are the opposite 'down unda'!
ReplyDeleteThanks for truing to cool me off. It's HOT here today! Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteYou get snow down under, must be artificial. Nice shot Jim
ReplyDeleteIt's artificial in Sydney but it does snow on the outskirts in the Blue Mountains in the years when it's really cold.
DeleteSend some of that ice our way, will you?
ReplyDeleteFishing for Lost Shadows
You're welcome to it. I'm actually escaping to the Northern Hemisphere for a few weeks to escape the cold.
