Barangaroo Reserve, Munn's Slipway

This reconstructed foreshore at Nawi Cove, is located at Barangaroo Reserve, in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. During reconstruction, remnants of a slipway where James Munn developed a shipyard in the late 1820s were found here. As a memorial, Munn's Slipway C.1927 has been carved into the large sandstone blocks.

  3. I don't think I know the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. But how wonderful to have inner city suburb right on the water's edge!

  6. The sandstone makes a lovely natural looking foreshore. Not an area I am familiar with. Your Sydney photos make me really keen to explore more of Sydney. It is a beautiful city, but too much traffic for me.

    1. You can catch a train to Wynyard or a ferry to Darling Harbour. ;)

  7. There are many development projects always underway here in Sydney. We are able to appreciate a wide variety of historical landmarks that have been preserved with a modern touch to stay on par and complement with today’s beautiful architecture. Even the regular high-rise buildings like apartments and self storage facilities are also just as stunning.
