This former industrial building is located on the corner of Roachford Street and Knight Street, in the inner city suburb of Erskineville. It is one of the buildings in this street which is home to Commune Studios, a co-working space for creative industry freelancers, small businesses and entrepreneurs. It is a collective of creatives from many fields – design, photography, film, journalism, public relations, events – all working under one roof. The roller door features artwork which is constantly updated and this unusual mural has since been replaced by another mural.
A touch of colour! Arianna
ReplyDeleteInteresting...wonder what they were thinking....:)JP
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept for a roller door. It looks like the artist was playing with shape and colour.

ReplyDeleteNot sure what to make of it, but it makes you take a second look.
ReplyDeleteI love the art on that roll-up door. Happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeletegreat 'dooral' and that must be a great place/atmosphere for work.
ReplyDeleteI know murals are temporary but I hate when I love one and it is replaced.
ReplyDeleteAs murals go, it is colorful, but also disturbing in an odd way. Interesting that it is often replaced. Someone must be supporting local artists.
ReplyDeleteCreative forces at work, inside and out!
ReplyDeletehow nice to have it ever changing!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good new use.
ReplyDeletehard to find your yellow spot,
ReplyDeletebut it seems like a flicking one.
Creamy yellow backgrounds. Direct sunlight makes it look lighter.
DeleteSomething unusual about this, both provocative and unsettling. Sorry about the Linky glitch. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

ReplyDeleteI have to say street art isn't my thing but I love that you have shown us more to this story, where the artwork is. I do love the buildings.
