This mural is located on the wall of a timber mill along Marrickville Road, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. "The River Settler" was created by street artist Fintan Magee as a site specific work, referencing the wild colonial heritage of Australia's original timber industry. Rallis Timber is one of Australia's oldest and most significant timber mills and this artwork is a homage to the wild outback heritage and lifestyle.
Fantastic find Jim. He's such a talented artist, we have several huge scale works here in Perth.

ReplyDeleteHello Jim, First, thank you for not giving up on me with the linky problems. I have figured out the problem was ‘me.’ With some great advice from a person who knows about linky I think I’ve got this now.
ReplyDeleteThe Mural is so well done. The artist Magee has the same name as my brother-in-law in Kansas City, MO in the USA. Smile. This rider really looks like he is riding in water. Nice mural to share.
Happy Blue Monday.
