Double Bay, wharf

This ferry has stopped at the Double Bay ferry wharf, located beside the Double Bay Sailing Club along Sydney Harbour, in the eastern suburb of Double Bay. The Friendship is a First Fleet Class ferry which is part of the fleet that operates on the Inner Harbour. It was named Friendship, after the one of eleven ships of the First Fleet that sailed to Australia in 1787.

    1. That's interesting, Suza. I just googled Hamburg ferries and I saw some similar designs there.

  3. I love ferry boats, most of them at least...this ferry is for passengers only, I think...no cars. Lovely weather for going out on a boat.

    1. That's right, Barbara. The ferry services around Sydney are for passengers not vehicles. There is only one for vehicles, that I'm aware of that crosses the Parramatta River between Mortlake and Putney.

  4. I enjoyed riding the ferry boats when I lived in San Francisco, CA once upon a time. It's a different kind of thinking.

  5. It looks like a busy place. Ferries are a great way to travel, especially if it cuts off lots of kilometers from your travels.

  6. Love ferries, because already as a teen I made use of them often (growing up with several penisulas) Many thanks for showing this to All Seasons, Jim. Have a great week:)
