Waverley, reservoir

A side view of the heritage listed water reservoir which is located along Paul Street, in the eastern suburb of Waverley. Nicknamed "Stonehenge", Waverley Reservoir No.1 was completed in 1887 and was the last of four reservoirs built to augment the Botany Swamps Scheme. The other three reservoirs were Crown Street Reservoir in 1859, Paddington Reservoir in 1864 and Woollahra Reservoir in 1880.

  3. Nice that the anonymous engineers gave it the appearance of Rome's colosseum. Job wel done I say. Thanks for showing Jim.
