The entrance to Penshurst railway station, in the southern suburb of Penshurst. It is served by Sydney Trains T4 line services on the Illawarra & South Coast Line. Penshurst station opened in 1886 with a single line from Hurstville to Sutherland. It was relocated south to its current location in 1905 when a deviation double track was built.

ReplyDeletePenshurst station originally opened in 1886, so I hope when the building was relocated, all the original features were retained. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteHels, they originally built weatherboard buildings on either side of the line. They then built a brick building between the two tracks and an overhead bridge.
