This mural is on the side of a shop on the corner of Victoria Road and Central Lane, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. Fresko is a Greek gelato and waffle shop which was previously called Pagoto. In Greek, "fresko" means "fresh" and "pagoto" is the word for "ice-cream". The small sign "ΟΔΟΣ PAGOTO" is in the style of street name signs found in Greece, although here they've mixed Greek and English letters to create: Ice Cream Street.

ReplyDeleteDoes remind me of a comic book page, it's beautiful.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Jim.
This also reminds me of Lichtenstein. I would gladly join you on Ice Cream Street and enjoy this mural, too.
