St Savvas of Kalymnos Orthodox Church is located along the Princes Highway, in the southern suburb of Banksia. This church building was formerly used by the Banksia Free Church. It became an Orthodox Church in 2016 and the onion domes are recent additions.

I agree with Bill.
ReplyDeletethe structure of our church has not changed, and it is the same as it was originally when it was a protestant church...only difference it is painted, icons installed infront, and Orthodox domes added...quite offensive to both the Protestants and us Orthodox to say 'converted a garage in house....whoever passes the highway and all neighbours love it.. and maybe you should come and see what it is like inside.....a holy Santuary NOT a garage!!
Deleteyou liked it here..

I don't think they are saying that they don't like it.
DeleteHmm, a bit strange architecture of this church.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice, relaxing Sunday, Jim:)
Yes, I think the spire on the old Banksia Free Church was better suited to the building.
DeleteWhat a blank wall!
ReplyDeleteI like the little shadows tucked up under the eaves.
