This White-faced Heron forages for food along the fence between Cook Park and Lady Robinsons Beach, in the southern suburb of Brighton-Le-Sands. The view across Botany Bay is clear to Port Botany.

I think the fence is mainly there to keep people off the vegetation on the sand dunes which protect them from erosion.
