A group of Aboriginal buskers can usually be found at Circular Quay making music using a didgeridoo and clapsticks. Last week, NAIDOC Week celebrations were held across Australia to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Love it! It's fun to see different street musicians from all over the world.
ReplyDeleteCool! I'd love to see them.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are great!
ReplyDeleteI find very interesting this display of culture!
ReplyDeleteThey look like they are having fun!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly have the very best of spots for their busking. I do find it a little sad though. And yet I dont find the other buskers sad - just a way of earning a living. I think I shall have to adjust my emotions!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, we can't hear the music.
ReplyDeletePretty cool. I bet tourists take pix with them eh?
ReplyDeleteewok1993, the tourists certainly do and the buskers don't mind posing for pictures between performances.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Wish I could hear the music, too! Love your photos as always! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSylvia

ReplyDeletevery interesting image and info.
ReplyDeleteit must be very interesting to walk down the streets and listen to their music.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the sound of a Didgeridoo that I find fascinating.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an interesting, fun street. The music certainly gives it so much character.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a didgeridoo. He hasn't learned to play it yet. I enjoy listening to taped music that we have, though.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to see how they ended!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment!

Serge
Serge Cornillet, while its true that life may be sad for some Aboriginal people, these buskers seem quite happy to be performing their music.
ReplyDeleteinteresting costumes! would love to hear them playing!
ReplyDeletewhy you did not take a video for us to hear them playing! just kidding! lol!
ReplyDeleteExplore Germany
Redruby, you'll have to come to Australia and experience the music for your self. :)
ReplyDeleteThese buskers are great! I see them around sometimes...
ReplyDeleteI love this, especially the fact that the traditional music is amplified with modern technology.
ReplyDeleteToo Deadly ... Tammy and Bennelong are very talented and are great ambassadors for the Aboriginal Community and the Gumbaingirr People in particular.
