Bronte Park
These picnic shelters are at Bronte Park overlooking Nelson Bay and Bronte Beach, in the eastern suburb of Bronte. The suburb took its name from Bronte House which was built in 1845 in this area by Robert Lowe, who became Viscount Sherbrooke. He had named it for Lord Horatio Nelson, who was the Duke of Bronte, a place in Sicily, Italy. Nelson Bay is also named for Lord Nelson.

Bronte, baths
Bronte Baths are located at the southern end of Bronte Beach on Nelson Bay, in the eastern suburb of Bronte. They are also known as the Bronte Beach Baths or the Bond Ocean Pool after lifesaving pioneer and swimming teacher, Major John Bond.

Strand Arcade, Christmas decorations
The Strand Arcade is a historic shopping arcade, built in 1891 in the Victorian architectural style, that runs between George Street and Pitt Street. This contemporary Christmas Tree (above) complete with a red bench at its base rises up to the third level and was the centrepiece of their Christmas decorations this year. The balconies and sky bridges were adorned in fairy lights (below) and the large wreath and star were hung above the George Street entrance.

David Jones department store, Christmas
The Christmas display windows at the Elizabeth Street store of the David Jones department store. This year's theme is Christmas carols, featuring "O Christmas Tree", "O Come, All Ye Faithful", "Ding Dong Merrily On High", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" and "The First Noel".

St Mary's Cathedral, Lights of Christmas
The facade of St Mary's Cathedral on College Street has been featuring Lights of Christmas, a light projection show running from 8th December to 25th December. The display captures the essence of Australia’s natural beauty during summer, featuring traditional Christmas colours and imagery inspired by the cathedral. A brilliant display on this building that dominates the skyline on the eastern edge of the city. This view is from across the square in Cook and Philip Park, where choral performances have also been held nightly on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Martin Place, Christmas Tree
This large Christmas Tree is located in the Martin Place pedestrian mall, outside the General Post Office building. 'A Sydney Christmas', which was held in late November, is an annual Children's Christmas Concert and Tree Lighting in Martin Place featuring Christmas carols and a fireworks display.

Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Lights of Christmas
Hyde Park Barracks Museum on Macquarie Street is currently featuring Lights of Christmas, a light projection show running from 8th December to 25th December. The show which celebrates Christmas is designed to complement the building’s historic sandstone canvas, with designs inspired by its architecture and showcasing its features.
