Bondi, The Stick Man

'The Stick Man' is a sculpture created by Paul Milman in 1999. It is located in Hunter Park, a sculpture park in the eastern suburb of Bondi, overlooking Bondi Bay. There are a couple of stumps behind it and I'm not sure why they chopped down those two trees but the Pacific Ocean does make a better backdrop now, as do the yellow flowers currently in bloom low to the ground.

  1. Great shot and an interesting park. We guess even stick men want an ocean view.

  2. There is a statue of a king in Niagara Falls, Canada. The king gazes out on the waterfall. The stick man can gaze out on the ocean .. better than looking at trees, I think. I like the reflection of the stick man on the ground too.

  8. An intriguing stick man sculpture! Love how it offers various frames of the sea beyond and the flowers are like drops of gold round it!

  10. Ann, he's almost like an airport controller guiding a plane in to land. He could be signalling to new arrivals from New Zealand, considering how many Kiwis make their home in Bondi.
