Strand Arcade, Christmas decorations

The Strand Arcade is a historic shopping arcade, built in 1891 in the Victorian architectural style, that runs between George Street and Pitt Street. This contemporary Christmas Tree (above) complete with a red bench at its base rises up to the third level and was the centrepiece of their Christmas decorations this year. The balconies and sky bridges were adorned in fairy lights (below) and the large wreath and star were hung above the George Street entrance.

  8. I always think that wintery Christmas decorations in the southern half of the world look cheap and cheesy. But these are stunning.

Happy new year and thanks for the link

  14. The arcade looks wonderful. Similar arcades in other cities have fallen into neglect. I am glad that the Strand Arcade appears to be thriving.

  22. I like that. Haven't been down there this year. Waiting till the chaos of the sales fades a bit.

I had more trouble with busses at Town Hall, than people. Had to wait through half a dozen light cycles to get then all without busses.
