Croydon, Sydney Missionary and Bible College

The Sydney Missionary and Bible College is located on Badminton Road, in the inner west suburb of Croydon. This house built in 1916 in the Victorian style is now the Administrative Reception for the Croydon campus of the oldest interdenominational bible college in Australia.

  5. Beautiful building. Used to be quite a few of those in Arncliffe, don't think many are left now.

  6. So, your house is called 'Nindethana'. Do a post showing the nameplate, and maybe link to Joan's series on Blue Mountains.

I shall respond to your Theme Day query in a little while. Want to chat with Peter up on the Sunshine Coast first.

Went to this post. Looks like an old fashion church.

I read from the comments, some one mentioned about Oprah. She did make an impact?

  8. Julie, yes I'll have to do a post on Nindethana one of these days. Maybe with some other nameplates from around the suburb.

Ann, Oprah made a big impact during her visit in December. They just screened her four specials here in Australia in prime time and they had huge ratings.

  9. Stronger than time it feels to be. Great picture. Even its light inside seems to be brighter than day light.

  10. I really love the architecture and gardens, but I don't like the colour (of the paint or render) at all.

  11. Hels, there are a number of Victorian mansions in this street and suburb. There's a variety of different colour schemes used. I'll try and feature some others at some stage.

  12. Great building. Do you know the history behind the name of your house?

  13. Joan, I believe Nindethana is an Aboriginal word meaning 'Ours'. Apparently it's quite a commonly used house name around Australia. I've found this website that might be useful for determining the meaning of Aboriginal house names.

  14. Oh, I just love this one. The peachy color, the black wrought iron balconies, the palm trees, the sunlight. Wonderful.
