The Woronora Crematorium is located in the Woronora General Cemetery, in the southern suburb of Sutherland. This heritage listed building features the West Chapel and the South Chapel and is surrounded by memorial gardens. It was designed by architect Louis Robertson in the art deco architectural style and was completed in 1934.
The grounds here are so pretty.

ReplyDeleteVery deco, isn't it. In one way, harsh geometric architecture is perfectly suitable for funereal buildings, since you don't want frills and flounces. But I am very pleased there are lawns and shrubs softening the surrounds.
