Centennial Park, Duck Pond

This viewing area looks out across Duck Pond in Centennial Park  in the eastern suburbs. It features a unique decorative fence and is shaded by palms which line Parkes Drive. The birds in the pond include waterfowl, ducks, ibises and swans, while the trees and  fence attract pigeons and sea gulls.

  3. These big public spaces are so important in urban areas - I wonder if they would build them today?

Thanks for the comment on my blog - I've been in Oman for a week hence slow reply!

    1. Stewart, we seem to lose a lot of these public spaces to developers and don't often see new ones anywhere.

  7. Serenity emanates from this photo. I can imagine sitting there, feeding the waterfowl--with healthy snacks, of course!
